Graduated from Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Department, in the subject of Solid-State Physics. PhD degree in physics from University of Silesia in Katowice in 1978. Since 1968 employed in the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in Gliwice, in the Material Science and Powder Metallurgy Department. His research area comprises the anisotropy of structure and properties of metals and metal-based composites using the x-ray techniques. Currently holds a position of Director for Metal Processing and Materials Science, being responsible for development of research in that area in IMN.
